Hi, I'm Robin!

I'm a 45-year old retired roller derby skater and current runner and obstacle racer.

You might think I've been an athlete my entire life.

You'd be wrong.

I'm what you would call a later in life athlete.

Growing up, I was the clumsy kid who was picked last for elementary school sports teams. I was the musical theater kid who avoided PE class like the plague and never went near an organized sport.

So how did that same awkward kid end up playing a full contact sport on eight wheels as an adult?

It was 2003 and I had recently moved to Los Angeles. With no friends or social circle, I found myself on Craigslist looking for a way to meet people (hey, this was pre-social media!). I stumbled upon an ad for an upstart roller derby league called the LA Derby Dolls.

As an 80s kid, I was intrigued to say the least. I gathered up all the bravery I could muster and went to my first practice.

I was hooked.

I pretty quickly discovered an athletic side of myself that I never knew existed. It was thrilling to challenge myself mentally and physically in this new way. It made me feel like a rockstar in my life and a superhero to my family.

I gained the confidence to pursue a new career as a fitness trainer and coach.

After playing for eleven years, I steped away from the sport.

But here's the thing about discovering your athletic potential - you become an athlete for life.

In 2014, I ran my first half marathon the weekend of my fortieth birthday.

In 2015, I ran my first Spartan Race. Again, I was hooked.

I have finished over 60 Spartan Races, including a 30-mile Spartan Ultra. I have stood on multiple age group podiums and earned a top 20 age group finish at the Spartan World Championships.

In 2020, I ran my first marathon.

Through all of this, I have learned that there is something extremely empowering that comes with tapping into and exploring your athletic potential regardless of age and fitness background.

What I've found is most women over 40 try all the usual stuff when it comes to their fitness. They focus solely on dieting and weight loss, which often results in frustration, poor self image and eventually...quitting. They suffer from self-limiting beliefs about what women over 40 can or should do. They put their own fitness last on the list of priorities in their lives.

Since developing my unique step-by-step system, I've helped women like you run their first race, achieve personal bests, and do and achieve things they never imagined they could do.
